JPA interiors unveiled on inaugural flight of American Airways rebranded Boeing B777-300ER
The inaugural flight of the first Boeing B777-300 to bear the carrier’s new logo and livery took place on January 31 and the aircraft featured brand new JPA-designed first class, business class and economy cabins, a ‘Door 2’ self-service bar for first and business class customers.
The first class Flagship suites, each of which has direct aisle access, convert to 80-inch long fully lie-flat beds, with drop-down armrests offering extra width and comfort. A swivel seat, two tray tables and a retractable privacy screen maximise passenger space and amenity, whilst a 17-inch IFE screen, two universal AC power sockets and USB ports keep customers connected and entertained.
The business class seats also offer direct aisle access, adjustable seat backs, head rests and leg rests, and convert to full lie-flat beds. Access to the IFE system is via 15.4-inch screens.
The economy class cabin provides comfortable seating and individual seatback IFE screens.
JPA’s managing director, James Park, said: “We are delighted that JPA’s designs for American Airlines’ Boeing 777-300ER fleet have been unveiled as part of the carrier’s brand relaunch, as they play a vital role in delivering American’s aim of a more modern, comfortable and connected experience throughout the entire aircraft
“This is the first element of a wide-reaching project, which will see interiors and products designed for American Airlines by JPA introduced fleet-wide, transforming the passenger experience and putting the carrier well ahead of its competitors.”
JPA design director Tim Manson added: “American Airlines is an iconic brand and this is a hugely exciting project for JPA. The B777-300ER interiors are just the first of many that JPA have designed for American Airlines’ entire fleet and we look forward to seeing all those elements come to fruition over the coming months.
“Throughout this project we have worked very closely with American Airlines and have developed a deep understanding of their needs and aspirations. The new design language and finishes have redefined American Airlines product aesthetic, resulting in a coherent fleet wide strategy and supporting their goal of modernising, innovating and putting the passenger at the centre of all they do.”
