The minimum two-year extension reinforces Kahootz’s position as an industry leader in secure online collaboration platforms, which are used across the defence sector. It remains the only platform of its type to be used and accredited by the MoD to store and share information marked up to Official-Sensitive.

The contract marks nearly a decade of cooperation between Kahootz and the MoD. The cloud-based platform allows the MoD to collaborate more effectively with its wider supply chain, ensuring that firms of all sizes have the necessary tools to contribute to our vital defence programmes securely. The Kahootz platform is also used to support and integrate internal MoD work. The MoD’s continued use of the platform underscores its commitment to fostering innovation and engaging with agile, high-performing SMEs, strengthening the UK’s defence industrial base.

The extension reflects Kahootz’s commitment to continue enhancing the platform, both to improve user experience and to increase the security of the platform, working on improved cybersecurity measures in collaboration with the MoD Cyber Team. This contract, and others like it, have allowed Kahootz to double its workforce in the last six months, allowing Kahootz to invest back into the platform. This allows them to provide more support for its customers and crucially improving the platform’s security, for the MoD and all other government departments using it. These updates ensure the platform can address the rapidly changing threat landscape, enabling the MoD and its partners to operate with confidence. In addition, the improvements will benefit other defence partners also using the system, increasing security across the industry.

Luca Leone, CEO of Kahootz said: “We are honoured to continue supporting the MoD in its work and in strengthening the UK’s defence capabilities. This contract extension is fantastic recognition of our ongoing work to provide the leading, secure platform for the MoD and wider issues of national security. As an SME ourselves, the continued delivery of the platform ensures secure access for organisations of all sizes, particularly SMEs, who are vital contributors to the UK’s defensive capabilities.”
