At 42,000 square feet, the facility has doubled in size to incorporate fire detectors, cable assemblies, actuators, sensors, valves and heat exchangers, adding over 100 new part numbers to the current aviation portfolio, with a focus on building capability to support the fastest growing new generation aircraft including the Airbus A320neo, Airbus A350XWB and Boeing 737MAX.

Meggitt welcomed guests from across the Asia Pacific aviation market to tour the expanded Centre of Excellence, located in the Seletar Aerospace Park, the centrepiece of Singapore’s vibrant aerospace cluster which is home to over 60 leading industry players with business activities that span from engine manufacturing to Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), R&D and training.

Adrian Bunn Vice President and General Manager APAC, for Meggitt’s Services & Support division said: “We are delighted to mark the expansion of our state-of-the-art facility in Singapore with visits from some of our most important customers, supply partners and guests from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and JTC who have played a vital role in helping us reach this point.  The support provided by the Singapore government has enabled us to invest during a period of unprecedented challenge for our industry.  Our ability to support our customers with an even broader range of maintenance, repair and overhaul services has already enabled us to weather the storm posed by the global pandemic and provides an excellent foundation for growth as the industry emerges from this crisis.”

“We congratulate Meggitt on the expansion of its aftermarket Centre of Excellence in Singapore. The aerospace industry is seeing signs of recovery from the impact of COVID-19, and Meggitt’s continued investment in Singapore is a testament to the confidence in Singapore’s business environment, strong aerospace infrastructure and global connectivity,” said Ms Junie Fo, Vice President, Investment Facilitation Division, Singapore Economic Development Board. “Meggitt plays a key role in Singapore’s diverse aerospace ecosystem and we look forward to its continued growth here as we create good job opportunities for Singapore and Singaporeans.”

Lim Ai Ting, JTC’s Director of Aerospace and Marine Cluster said, “Meggitt has grown from strength to strength, and we are pleased to witness the doubling of its footprint in Seletar Aerospace Park today. Meggitt’s expansion is a vote of confidence in Seletar Aerospace Park’s attractiveness as an aerospace hub to capture growth opportunities and support its customer base in Asia. As the aviation industry starts to rebound, JTC remains committed to supporting the growth and success of our aerospace companies.”
