Menzies Aviation wins ‘International Air Cargo Handler of the Year’ award

Menzies Aviation has won the ‘International Air Cargo Handler of the Year’ award at the 2022 STAT Times International Awards for Excellence in Cargo.

The awards, which take place bi-annually, are determined through nominations and votes from STAT Trade Times magazine readers, making winners true industry choices.

The International Cargo Handler of the Year category, won by Menzies Aviation, recognises air cargo handlers for delivering an exceptional service across their global operations. The award reflects the success of Menzies’ cargo strategy, which includes a renewed focus on global partnerships and expansion into new markets.

With a number of significant cargo contract wins globally and strategic joint ventures, Menzies’ cargo operations have gone from strength to strength over recent years - growing from 36 stations in 2018, to 58 today.  
 
Accepting the award on behalf of Menzies at the Air Cargo India Exhibition and Conference in Mumbai, Charles Wyley, Executive Vice President – Middle East, Africa and Asia, said: “We are proud that our air cargo operations have been recognised by the industry with this accolade. Our cargo team has successfully navigated challenging times to deliver a consistently excellent and flexible service to our customers while also starting up new operations efficiently. This award is testament to their dedication and hard work. Analysis from aviation intelligence company IBA, has found that global aviation carbon intensity improved from 860 gCO₂ per revenue tonne-kilometre (RTK) in 2018 to 690 gCO₂/RTK by September 2025 - an efficiency improvement of 20% - but that flight activity growth is offsetting those operational gains.
