Morris promoting use of solar power at HAE Conference

Morris Site Machinery will be encouraging visitors attending this year's HAE Conference to embrace solar power.

Morris Site Machinery developed and launched the SMC Solar-2, Britain’s first solar tower light, to take sustainability to a new level and meet industry demand for reliable, environmentally friendly and cost-effective equipment.

Solar-2 has no carbon emissions, no noise, no diesel fuel and no possibility of fuel spillage. Its high quality LED lamps offer 100,000 hours of life - the highest in the industry. With both battery and mains supply provision it also offers flexible options for all applications on site.

Unlike hybrid competitor models the Solar-2 offers the ultimate in green efficiency and associated cost savings. It operates eight times longer than a hybrid model and generates a carbon saving up to 3,000kg per year, and can save users up to £7,400 per year on maintenance and fuel costs. The lighting tower has currently been operating at a nationally recognised distribution depot for over 350 hours with no recharge required.

Morris Site Machinery is continuing further development working with three leading CCTV and surveillance companies to tackle the problem of site theft and safety with a truly sustainable, constant 24 hour surveillance camera using the Solar-2.

Phil Winnington, Managing Director said: “We are incredibly proud of the SMC Solar-2. It has developed an innovative eco lighting tower which does not compromise on power or quality and delivers a truly sustainable product to meet the needs of the industry today and tomorrow. It has proven to serve and deliver tangible benefits to our customers and has already generated significant interest across a range of industries and achieved shortlisting in European Rental Awards 2015 for Sustainable product of the Year.”

Morris Site Machinery is supporting the 2015 Hire Convention / HAE Conference as event partner and key sponsor, which is being held Tuesday 22 & Wednesday 23 September 2015 at the Holywell Park Conference Centre (above), in Loughborough, Leicestershire.
