Nasmyth invests in surface treatment and metal finishing

Nasmyth Group is responding to a substantial growth in demand for its metal surface treatment and finishing technologies.

Within the UK, the Group has four surface treatment businesses providing precise, aerospace industry and Nadcap-approved treatments and at one of these, GEB Surface Treatments Limited, construction has already started to double the size of the company’s buildings and facilities.

GEB is a joint venture established by Nasmyth Group and GE Treatments Ltd to provide specialist metallic component treatments, including protection and lubrication services. Working closely with its customers, GEB provides electroplating, non-destructive testing, painting, dry film lubrication and anodising to the most stringent aerospace specifications. Its tartaric anodising processes meet the very latest customer requirements for airframe applications and its high performance painting facilities are used extensively for critical constructions such as aircraft doors where corrosion resistance is of the highest importance.

This investment in GEB will further strengthen our ability to deliver fully integrated, precision engineering solutions to our global customer base.”

GEB is constantly improving and adapting its capability to satisfy customers’ stringent requirements with respect to quality, responsiveness, lead times and cost. Systems, resources and training are continuously reviewed to ensure our performance is always to industry leading standards.
