NBAA 2013: CAE and Bombardier expand ATP network

CAE and Bombardier announced at the annual Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA 2013) yesterday, that they are continuing to expand their Authorised Training Provider (ATP) network with an additional Level D full-flight simulator (FFS) for Bombardier Global 5000 and Global 6000 business jets equipped with the Bombardier Vision flight deck.

This will be the second Global series simulator featuring the Bombardier Vision flight deck  to be available in the CAE-Bombardier ATP network.

The CAE 7000 Series Level D FFS is expected to enter into service in one of CAE’s training centres within its global network at the end of 2014. CAE and Bombardier will determine the final location of the new training device, based on the fleet distribution of the aircraft and the existing network of training devices. Currently, Bombardier also offers training for Global 5000 and Global 6000 business jets through CAE-built simulators located at Bombardier’s Training Centres in Dallas, Texas and Montréal, Quebec.

“Providing our customers with training opportunities closer to their bases of operation is a key part of Bombardier’s overall support strategy,” said Leon Botteron, General Manager, Bombardier Aircraft Training. “Working hand-in-hand with CAE through its expansive network continues to benefit our growing fleet worldwide.”

As an Authorised Training Provider of Bombardier business aircraft programmes, CAE provides training using the Bombardier-approved syllabus and delivers high-quality training for Bombardier’s complete line of business jets.

"We continue to serve as the Authorised Training Provider for Bombardier and currently have 13 simulators providing state-of-the-art training to Bombardier operators,” said Nick Leontidis, CAE Group president, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services. “We have one Bombardier Vision flight deck-equipped programme ready to launch in December of this year in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for Global business jet operators. As the Global 5000 and Global 6000 order book continues to grow, we are excited to keep pace with the training demand by adding our second simulator to our ATP network fleet.”

CAE offers business aviation training on more than 80 different aircraft platforms and operates over 60 full-flight simulators in a global network of eight locations, including: London, Amsterdam, São Paulo, Shanghai, Dubai, New York, Phoenix and Dallas.
