Norfolk firm wins praise for training aid for Dubai market

British software company Evoke Systems is celebrating as its Electronic Flight Operations System (EFOS) has won praise from the UAE's civil aviation authority, GCAA.

The Norfolk-based company was founded in September 2001 to provide innovative, cost effective solutions such as EFOS, the web-based crew portal and flight operations management system. Evoke Systems has clients in both the commercial and business aviation sectors operating from the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

GCAA has carried out its annual audit of flydubai’s crew training programme and during the assessment, the Government auditors found flydubai to be fully compliant and gave positive feedback on the EFOS system.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said “We are delighted that we have scored so highly in our recent GCAA audit. Safety is flydubai’s number one priority and this audit proves the airline is operating to the very highest safety standards in the industry. Our decision to use Evoke Systems EFOS Training Module is a key component in our success in this audit and we would like to thank Evoke for their support and service.”

Flydubai uses Evoke   EFOS training module to manage all of its crew training and has now completed over 19,000 training records since the training programme began in early 2009.

The system provides each crew member with an electronic training folder. Training managers can access these folders and extract data for trend, risk and performance analysis purposes. The systems is also configured to send trigger messages such as validity dates, pass/fail statements and notification of under achievement (or exceptional attainment) to managers and electronically to the airline’s crewing, scheduling and records systems. Structured training data made can be made available for analysis and audit purposes; this data can be used as part of ATQP qualification.  T
