NP Aerospace joins Team LionStrike on LMV tender bid
Team LionStrike has appointed NP Aerospace as prime contractor for its proposal to the UK Ministry of Defence’s Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV) programme, strengthening the UK led approach to programme delivery and through-life support.
David Petheram, Managing Director and Senior Vice President, Vehicle Systems, Services and Spares, NP Aerospace: “We are delighted to be appointed by Team LionStrike as its prime contractor and to be selected by GM Defence for this vital support role. These appointments reflect our commercial and technical expertise and long-standing commitment to supporting military forces globally. By working directly with GM’s OEM ecosystem, we can deliver UK-based programme and support services that help maintain safety, resilience and operational readiness throughout the life of these fleets.”
Team LionStrike is a teaming agreement that brings together NP Aerospace’s integration expertise, BAE Systems’ complex defence programme expertise and GM Defence’s proven vehicle technology. As prime contractor, NP Aerospace will lead the UK customer interface and programme delivery, working with BAE Systems and GM Defence to integrate capabilities across the team.
How support services underpin fleet maintenance, modification and operational readiness
NP Aerospace has also been appointed an official original equipment manufacturer (OEM) certified support provider for the GM vehicles proposed for the programme. This certification enables NP Aerospace to diagnose, service, maintain, modify and repair GM vehicles in the UK and on deployed operations.

The arrangement gives the UK access to GM-backed technical expertise, approved work processes, genuine parts, training, manuals, technical bulletins and data publications. The certification will maximise fleet availability and operational readiness while reducing reliance on overseas support.
Laurence Ellis, Managing Director, BAE Systems: “We are proud to be part of this strong team bringing proven expertise and OEM support to the UK. Coupled with our capability integration expertise in South Yorkshire, Team LionStrike offers the sovereign capabilities required to deliver and support these vehicles for the British Army over the long term.”
