School leavers can now apply for this degree in exactly the same manner as their other degree choices. This means that students no longer have to choose between studying for a degree or undertaking integrated commercial pilot training – they can now do both. Alternatively, individuals can apply directly through the CTC Wings programme.

Students can apply to fund their studies through the grant of UK government loan support (see www.ctcwings.com/BScHon s for details and www.slc.co.uk for terms and eligibility criteria) enabling a wider range of individuals to pursue their dream of becoming an airline pilot.

All successful CTC Wings applicants can commence training with CTC Aviation and incorporate the degree into their training, subject to meeting the specific Middlesex University entry criteria which are listed on the CTC Wings website.

CTC Aviation Training (UK) managing director, Martin Hunt said: “Making this innovative programme available in exactly the same way as other professions such as medicine and accountancy do, is a real boost to making becoming a professional pilot a realistic career choice. The potential of having student funding available really helps make professional pilot training accessible to a much greater group of people, as it can make a significant impact on how the whole course is funded.
