Police Scotland to host 62nd annual National Police Dog Trials

Police Scotland will host the 62nd annual National Police Dog Trials from Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd May.

The event will be held at the Police Scotland College, Tulliallan and see police dogs and their handlers from across the United Kingdom compete in a series of trials including agility, searching and obedience.

The event will be open to members of the public from Tuesday 21st May, with the competition reaching its climax on Thursday 23rd May. Further details for members of the public will be released closer to the event.

Police Scotland last hosted the event back in 2015.

Chief Inspector Cath Thorburn of Police Scotland's Operational Support Division said: “We are thrilled to be hosting the 62nd National Police Dog Trials and are looking forward to meeting dogs and their handlers from across the UK.

“Police dog units make an extremely valuable contribution to keeping people safe and deterring crime across Scotland and beyond. All of those competing will be showcasing skill, control and discipline of the highest standard.

“Preparations are well under way and we look forward to what will no doubt be a fantastic event.”
