Raytheon UK appoints Mason as Director of Strategy and Business Development

Raytheon UK has appointed Dean Mason its new Director of Strategy and Business Development.

Joining the company from Thales UK – where Mason was the vice president of Business Development, Sales & Marketing for the past six years – he will be responsible for Raytheon UK’s business development strategy as well as co-ordinating relationships with both UK and overseas customers.

“Dean has excellent knowledge of both UK and international defence markets and joins the business at an exciting time in the pursuit of key UK and export programmes,” said Richard Daniel, Raytheon UK chief executive. “His intimate customer knowledge and relationships will be an invaluable contribution to the growth of Raytheon UK.”

Mason previously served as an RAF Tornado navigator, where he saw operational service in Germany and the Gulf. He was awarded an MBE for his role in RAF planning for Gulf War One and is a graduate of the RAF’s Advanced Staff Course. Mason also spent a short period working as a civilian in the Ministry of Defence supporting high-level operational analysis of future operational requirements.

“Raytheon UK has a consistent record of delivering leading-edge technology and systems to its customers in the UK and overseas. My aim is to expand the company’s technology base in the UK and internationally for the benefit of all customers,” said Mason.

Raytheon UK is a subsidiary of Raytheon Company. It is a prime contractor and major supplier to the UK Ministry of Defence and has developed strong capabilities in mission systems integration in defence, national security and commercial markets. Raytheon UK also designs, develops and manufactures a range of high-technology electronic systems and software at facilities in Harlow, Glenrothes, Gloucester, Uxbridge, Waddington and Broughton.
