Richard Mintern appointed CEO of Bond Aviation Group

The Bond Aviation Group today announced the appointment of Richard Mintern to the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Mintern comes with nearly 30 years’ experience leading different functions of international aviation businesses, most recently as Group COO of The Monarch Travel Group. Prior to Monarch he held positions at Britannia Airways and British Aerospace.

A spokesperson for the Group stated: “Richard Mintern’s operational and commercial experience in the aviation industry will play an important part in developing our business in the UK, Northern Europe and Australia. Bond Aviation has a great pedigree in the provision of services in Emergency Services and Oil and Gas markets.” The spokesperson added, “We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Geoff Williams for his tremendous contribution to the growth of the Bond Aviation Group and wish him a very happy retirement.”

It was also announced that Bill Munro has decided to step aside as Managing Director of Bond Offshore Helicopters.

Malcolm Paine, hitherto Director of Operations at the company, will assume leadership of the business with immediate effect. Paine brings an extensive knowledge of Bond Offshore Helicopters and its operations, as well as strong relationships with its customers.

Richard Mintern (above) said: “My first priority will be to work with Malcolm and our existing customers to conduct an extensive review of Bond Offshore Helicopters’ operations and customer service, in order to ensure that we provide the highest levels of service. I look forward to starting this process straight away.”

Bond Aviation Group is the UK's largest independent emergency and mission critical helicopter operator providing air ambulance helicopter services, police and marine support to offshore wind farms and lighthouses as well as mission critical, search and rescue and energy support services in the North Sea to blue chip oil companies. With a fleet of over 43 aircraft and operations accumulating more than 106,000 flight hours across the globe, the group benefits from an international presence and a commercially strong and financially stable parent company. Bond currently operates from bases in the UK and Australia, employing 543 people and with a turnover of £137m (annualised) in 2011.
