Senior plc acquires Atlas Composites

International manufacturing group Senior plc, has acquired 100% shareholding of one of the UK's leading composites manufacturers, Atlas Composites.

Established in 1997, Atlas Composites manufacture a diverse range of composite structures and tooling for a number of industry sectors that include automotive, defence and more importantly aerospace – a key factor that triggered the acquisition interest of David Beavan, CEO of Senior Aerospace BWT.

Speaking of the acquisition Atlas Composites md Shaun Moloney said: “This is all about creating long term sustainable growth for UK manufacturing. I am certain with the support of the Senior group of companies we have a fantastic opportunity to achieve our goals to grow the business, and increase our exports over a shorter period of time than if we remained a privately owned company.”

“There will be no changes to the way we operate or indeed to the staff as Atlas will continue to service their current customer base of Motorsport, Aerospace, Defence, Communications etc. The major difference is that all existing customers now have the added confidence that we have the financial support of a FTSE 250 group supporting our growth and underpinning our investments in plant and people for many years to come.”

“We will retain our identity as ‘Atlas Composites’ and moving forwards the company will operate as a subsidiary of Senior UK Ltd.”
