Silent Sentinel expands product range with new HD cooled thermal lenses

British threat detection specialist Silent Sentinel (www.silentsentinel.com) has announced the expansion of its product portfolio to include brand-new full High-Definition (HD) cooled Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) thermal lenses.

In addition to its extensive range of standard definition products, Silent Sentinel has now expanded the HD market by offering HD cooled MWIR thermal lenses, with 1280x1024 resolution and 10μm pixel pitch as standard to drastically improve the range performance of their camera platform offering.

The following HD thermal lenses are currently available: 68.7-550mm; 43.6-785mm; 75-900mm; and 55.5-1000mm, and feature a motorized optical zoom of up to 18x along with push or automatic autofocus. These lenses can all be paired with a secondary HD or 4K visible sensor.

These cooled sensors are available to be fitted to the Osiris and Jaegar platforms, Silent Sentinel’s market-leading long-range platforms, and will provide end-users with a competitively priced solution whilst offering crisp, high-definition images within a rugged housing. The ruggedised housing is tested to an IP67 level of environmental protection to ensure that they retain their performance in extreme conditions, within a temperature range of -30°C to 65°C. This means that Silent Sentinel’s Osiris and Jaegar platforms will be capable of providing a clear image in the harshest surroundings and in challenging applications such as maritime and border security.

Silent Sentinel has also expanded its suite of Standard-Definition (SD) cooled MWIR thermal lenses to include three new options: 16.6-300mm; 30.5-550mm; and 43.6-785mm, all with a pixel pitch of 15μm.
