Six finalists announced for the ADS Security and Innovation Award

Ahead of Security and Policing 2023, six finalists of the ADS Security and Innovation Award 2023 have been shortlisted.

The award, now in its 18th year, is specifically designed to identify capabilities and services that have caused a step change in the effectiveness of the UK’s ability to prevent, respond to and reduce the impact of, or investigate risks and incidents.

DSEI 2025

Entries for the award are judged against four criteria of: innovation, uniqueness in the market, market demand and clear impact on addressing security and resilience issues. Submissions to the award were reviewed by an eminent panel of judges drawn from Government, academia and industry who selected six submissions shortlisted to the finals.

In alphabetical order, the six finalists are:

  • Adarga: The Adarga Knowledge Platform (AKP) is helping organisations to rapidly identify risks, threats and opportunities buried within huge volumes of information. It enables analysts, researchers and planners to provide decisionmakers with more accurate, comprehensive, granular and sophisticated insights into defence and security issues and situations.
  • Blue Lights Digital: the Odyssey Digital Forensics Support tool can extract proportionate targeted data sets via victim devices on scene, leaving devices with those that need them, improving the service to victims and investigation outcomes.
  • Detego Global: Detego Analyse AI analytics and workflow automation integrates forensic acquisitions from thousands of devices, providing in-depth analysis, intelligence and court-ready evidential reports through a user-friendly interface.
  • Kromek Ltd: Static Node R provides real-time detection, identification of gamma and neutron radiation inside a compact frame that is easily moved from location to location and can be deployed into areas that need heightened radiation detection solutions.
  • Saadian Technologies: PINS 5 – Prisoner Intelligence Notification System, is the latest version of PINS, used to help UK police prevent and investigate crime related to offenders released from prison.
  • Sesanti Ltd: ULARI, is a next-generation ultra-low-light-level long-range camera system, developed specifically for Defence and Security applications where the positive identification of individuals at range is imperative to aid saving lives and is time critical.

Commenting on the finalists, Angela Essel, Head of the Joint Security and Resilience Centre said: “Without doubt, this year’s ADS Innovation Award finalists truly reflect the breadth of skill and expertise the UK security sector has to offer. Each solution demonstrates an understanding of the challenges faced in keeping people and infrastructure safe and utilises innovation to meet these challenges head on.”
