Smith Myers and HAT.tec integrate ARTEMIS with SCALE

Smith Myers Communications and HAT.tec have announced the integration of the ARTEMIS Mobile Phone Detection and Location System (MPDLS) with the HAT.tec mission management system SCALE across the helicopter fleet of a major European law enforcement agency.

The integration enables ARTEMIS mobile phone detection and geolocation data to be displayed directly within the SCALE mission system, allowing operators to view ARTEMIS outputs alongside other aircraft sensors and mission data on a single fused display.

By consolidating multiple sensor inputs within a unified mission interface, the system significantly reduces operator cognitive workload while enhancing situational awareness and mission effectiveness. Operators can now interpret and act on information from multiple sensors without the need to manage separate systems.

Smith Myers has long championed the integration of advanced sensors into mission systems. Presenting mission data from multiple sources through a single interface transforms the aircraft into a unified operational platform for the crew rather than a collection of independent systems.

HAT.tec specialises in advanced multidomain mission management software designed to integrate and control multiple sensors and mission equipment within a unified operational environment. Its software, SCALE, enables operators to manage complex missions efficiently through intuitive interfaces and powerful sensor fusion capabilities.

“Integrating ARTEMIS into modern mission systems like SCALE delivers clear operational benefits,” said Andrew Munro, Managing Director, Smith Myers Communications Ltd. “When sensor data is fused into a single operational display, operators can focus entirely on the mission rather than managing multiple independent systems.”

“Mission system integration is essential for modern airborne operations,” said Fabian Schmitt, Co-CEO and Co-Founder, HAT.tec. “By integrating ARTEMIS into the SCALE mission system, we provide operators with seamless access to mobile phone detection data alongside other mission sensors, helping crews make faster decisions based on a comprehensive operational picture.”

The collaboration between Smith Myers and HAT.tec highlights the growing importance of sensor fusion and integrated mission management in modern airborne law enforcement and public safety aviation.
