Spirit AeroSystems confirms its acquisition by Boeing

Spirit AeroSystems Holdings, Inc. has announced that at the special meeting of its shareholders held last Friday, its shareholders voted to approve the proposed acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems by The Boeing Company.

The transaction, announced last summer, is expected to close in mid-2025, subject to closing conditions including the receipt of regulatory approvals.

Irene Esteves (above), Spirit AeroSystems Chief Financial Officer, said: "Our shareholder’s resounding approval today represents an important milestone in our carefully planned merger with Boeing.

Spirit AeroSystems has facilities globally, including Prestwick, Scotland and Belfast, Northern Ireland.
