STS Defence Ltd has recently been awarded a five year contract to provide Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) for the UHF Satcom terminal used across the Royal Navy surface and submarine fleet.

The contract, commencing on 1st July 2012, will see STS Defence support the MoD through to 2017. During this period a replacement programme will also take place introducing a new modern terminal into service. Andrew Chattaway at MoD Corsham – Project Manager for UHF Satcom said: “This represents a different way of working whereby STS provide support as a partially managed service using MoD assets. It is anticipated this approach will empower STS to be able to provide a more comprehensive, reactive and streamlined service while also retaining flexibility. This will be achieved by also building on the trust and openness that STS have demonstrated within their tender response and previous contracts.”
