The SitaWare suite and IRIS military messaging is used by more than 50 nations globally, and SitaWare Maritime is a key addition to providing effective C4ISR at the joint, and multi-domain level.
Now with updates to its situational awareness capability SitaWare Maritime incorporates the intelligence solution, SitaWare Insight, to find, sift and interrogate wide ranging data to provide decision support for naval commanders.
Working faster than any human brain, the AI capability can handle vast amounts of intelligence to give a much more detailed operational understanding.
“This type of tactical decision aid can provide commanders with all they need to make fast, informed decisions – it is a true information advantage,” said Stig Meyer, Systematics’ Product Development Manager for SitaWare Maritime. “We know that this software exceeds much of the functionality of in-service systems and those that are currently under development.”
Track correlation and anomaly detection built into the AI software means that unusual behaviour is quickly identified and flagged. This type of intelligence is key to global maritime security – a current concern following the suspected sabotage on the Nord Stream gas pipes in September.
This data can then be shared with other alliance partners, ensuring interoperability and a collective approach to defence. The Systematic team will have a demonstration of SitaWare Maritime at Euronaval with a team of experts on hand to showcase the product.
“I’m looking forward to demonstrating this product at Euronaval,” said Stig. “As a former naval commander myself this is exactly the type of software navies require to operate effectively with the threats faced today.
“With peer warfare a reality and threats existing across all the domains, information flow and command-and-control has never been more important.”
Currently in use with the Irish and Danish navies, SitaWare Maritime is installed and used at maritime operation centres ashore as well as on warships operating at sea.
