Techmodal receives Silver Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Award

Bristol based data technology specialists Techmodal are one of only 20 businesses in the South West this year to receive a Silver Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Award in recognition of the support it gives to Armed Forces Reservists and veterans.

Techmodal works with defence, industry and public sector clients, using their own data to transform their operations from the trained state of their people or condition of their vehicle fleet to the efficiency of their supply chain, and since it was founded in 2005 its roots have been firmly established within the Defence sector. The company also supports the wider Armed Forces community, particularly within the general population, such as Reservists and veterans.

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) honours employers with Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for their level of support to the Armed Forces and for aligning their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

Sarah Trevelion is Techmodal’s Head of People and a serving Reservist currently appointed as 2IC 39 Sig Regt based in Bristol:

“Techmodal is absolutely thrilled to have been awarded the Silver Employer Recognition Scheme by Defence Relationship Management,” she said. “As a serving Reservist and the People lead in the business, I’m delighted that we are able to support our serving and Veteran colleagues.

“Our people are what make our business, and through our current and future initiatives we are looking forward to continuing our support for the Armed Forces community.”

Minister for Defence People and Veterans, Johnny Mercer, said: “Veterans make a huge contribution to businesses across the country and it’s fantastic to see a record-breaking number of organisations recognised for their support.

“We’re working closely with businesses to help them further understand the huge value that veterans, reservists and military spouses can bring to their organisation.”

ERS award holders include Defence sector giants Thales UK, Babcock and BAE Systems.

Techmodal  Director Gareth Vaughan said: “We see huge benefits from the perspective our reservist and veteran employees bring to our business and we are always delighted to be able to support the Service charities which do a fantastic job looking after them when they complete their service.”

Over the past 15 years its people have worked in the Defence land domain alongside British Army Headquarters and Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisations, helping to save millions of pounds by analysing the data and applying innovative efficiency solutions to optimise their supply chain.

Techmodal were presented with an award certificate by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Bristol at an Awards Ceremony on 1st October.
