Amentum also manages the end-to-end supply chains across all seven continents and in 84 countries globally, supporting airframes, land vehicles and high value sensors – forecasting demand, kitting deployments and expediting repairables through regional hubs to remote locations.
To keep the US Army’s aviation fleet flying, Amentum is embedded at more than 20 bases, managing more than one million parts through regional warehouses and mobile supply points, coordinating multimodal movement of aircraft and components to depots and generating data-driven forecasts that cut requisition lead times. Our 7,000 strong workforce executes time-critical modifications while maintenance support teams deploy alongside units worldwide. We use cloud based logistics systems to give commanders instant visibility of parts status, workload and aircraft readiness.
Faced with the need to establish a remote maintenance and distribution centre in Poland to assess, diagnose and forward repair equipment donated to Ukraine, the US Department of Defense (DoD) turned to Amentum to fulfil this global surge requirement.
In these ways and many others, Amentum supplies the logistics needed to enable the world’s most advanced military to meet its commitments. The expertise and experience to do this does not come easily. Amentum has learned how by supporting militaries and the defence sector for more than 60 years.
For the DoD, our contracts include Global Prepositioned Material Services - provision of maintenance, storage, outload, reconstitution of war reserve material, exercise and contingency logistics support across the US, Europe and the Middle East. Additionally, we support the US Army Logistics Civil Augmentation Programme Framework, providing logistics and base operations services worldwide. Amentum delivers food, water, fuel, spare parts, field operations and operates the postal service. For the US Defense Logistics Agency, we hold multiple contracts providing a variety of functions including inventory, stock readiness and 3PL services, procurement of C5ISR supplies and services, chemical and fuel management and delivery.
In the UK we have supported Operation Relentless – the continuous at-sea deterrent – ever since the first boat slipped away from Loch Long in 1969. As the reactor experts of choice for the UK’s Naval Nuclear Propulsion Programme, we have delivered major projects for the Submarine Delivery Agency, Babcock Marine, BAE Systems, and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.
In Australia, Amentum is a major service provider for some of the most critical national security capabilities. We manage infrastructure and work on major projects in the land, air, maritime, cyber, space, nuclear and digital domains to support the Department of Defence’s multibillion dollar investment in enhanced capabilities.
“Wherever we operate, we focus on long-term, ongoing client relationships and many of our government and commercial defence and high technology clients retain our services across multiple projects, resulting in successful partnerships over many years in the delivery of our services,” said Justin Goldberg, Amentum’s Vice President UK Defence.
For the UK Ministry of Defence, Amentum provides independent project and programme delivery services, systems engineering, defence consultancy, analytical and research services to Defence Equipment and Support (D&ES), Defence Digital and the Front Line Commands.
As the DE&S Programme Delivery Partner (PDP), Amentum and its joint venture partner manage the mobilisation of more than 800 project and programme roles across DE&S and the Front Line Commands. “A collaborative delivery partnership” – that’s how Simon Hughes, MoD Programme Director, describes the way Amentum works with his organisation.
We have delivered client-approved savings of £1.2 billion, including £340 million through PDP. In the US we have delivered £15 million cost savings and more than £100 million cost avoidance on the Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise Programme.
The UK MoD trusts Amentum to ensure the safety and sustainability of the places where the armed forces are trained. Under a £560 million contract, our Landmarc joint venture provides purpose-designed and managed facilities across more than 85 sites on the UK Defence Training Estate and in other sensitive or secure environments.
“At a time of global instability, Amentum is constantly innovating to respond to new threats and the changing battlefield landscape,” Goldberg added. “We’re not an OEM and we’re not tied to any equipment provider, so our focus is on what works for our client. We leverage best-in-class technologies to prototype, integrate, operationalise, and modernise global missions.
“We specialise in modernising defence systems, enhancing operational readiness and ensuring the seamless integration of advanced technologies. Our unmatched global footprint allows us to provide mission support anytime, anywhere around the world.
“Decades of experience with the US DoD and the Defense Logistics Agency, who deliver on a scale unmatched by any other military, means that Amentum understands how to develop and enhance resilience.”
