With a seasoned history in design and materials science engineering, Dr Turner is joining the Tyron team at a time of product innovation, adding his vast experience in product development to the mix. Over the past year, Tyron Runflat has made a number of investments – including the expansion of its purpose-built manufacturing and testing facility in Pattaya, south of Bangkok in Thailand, plus its double product launch - including a discreet defence wheel and the world’s lightest rubber Runflat.

Known for its industry leading tyre safety solutions, Tyron is the inventor of the world’s only multi-piece rubber Runflat system, designed to keep vehicles on the road and reduce tyre-related accidents.

Dr Turner commented: “I’m joining the Tyron team at a very exciting time for business development and product investment. The team has only recently released its latest designs, which they proudly showcased to great reception at DSEI in September, so this is the perfect time for me to take on this new challenge. I’ve always had a real passion for material science and engineering, so Tyron felt like a natural fit for me.

“As I get embedded into the business, I’m going to be focusing on business processes and diversifying our product ranges. As we look to the future, we’re focused on growth and development, which means it’s going to be my role to support this next chapter of innovation. The defence industry is a new sector for me, so with fresh eyes, I want to take a look at our customer demographics to ensure we’re reaching the right people.

“The Tyron Multiband is a life-saving system, so I’m really committed to increasing our capabilities and driving our business forward to support more armed forces, blue light operators and commercial fleets. I’m ready for a new challenge, so I look forward to implementing my corporate experience and looking at how we can continue to provide market-leading, innovative products.”

Since 2001, the Loughborough business has made it its mission to provide reliable and cost-effective tyre safety solutions. Supplied throughout the world - for the police force, fire and ambulance services across the UK to military armoured vehicles, Tyron’s innovations provide a life-saving solution.

Peter Simson, Director at Tyron Runflat, commented: “We’re thrilled to have Stuart joining our team, bringing his specialist commercial knowledge and vast experience of material science and engineering. This latest investment marks a new era for our business as we welcome the next generation of innovative leaders. We’re constantly looking for ways to move our innovations forward and provide our customers with the life-saving systems they require, which is why we focus on putting the right people in the right roles.

“Stuart will be a central member of our team – directing our next product investments and enhancing our business processes. We work across a number of industries where you can’t afford to be making any mistakes which is why it’s paramount we make strategic recruitment choices  to ensure our continued success.”

Dr Turner added: “I’m excited for this next chapter; I look forward to making my mark within the business and bringing my expertise to the fore. Across all industries, businesses are navigating a challenging economic time but it’s vital we continue to show up and provide a reliable service for the industries that need our systems most.”
