UK companies showcasing advanced solutions at MSPO 2024

Next month, over 20 British companies will be showcasing a range of tried and tested and innovative defence solutions on the UK Pavilion within the 32nd International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO), taking place 3rd–6th September 2024 at the Targi Kielce exhibition centre in Poland.

MSPO is one of Europe's most important defence industry events and the UK pavilion has been a key feature of this exhibition since 2000. This year, 21 British companies are exhibiting on 387m2 in Hall D, surrounding a 72m2 UK DSE hub stand. This includes larger organisations such as Babcock, Pearson Engineering and Qinetiq, as well as many key SMEs.

The UK Pavilion is supported by 25 high ranking UK DSE and Ministry of Defence (MoD) personnel, including the Minister of State for Defence Procurement and Industry. Several special networking events have been arranged to help UK Pavilion exhibitors take advantage of the high value export opportunities, which exist in the defence sector in Poland.

Graham Donnelly, Assistant Head Europe B (Central Europe and the Baltic States) at UK DSE spoke to the UK Pavilion exhibitors on Monday, highlighting how a strong defence trade relationship with the UK is seen to be a key factor in building a strong Polish military and to maintain regional stability. He said that Poland is becoming the pre-eminent land superpower in Europe, with defence spending currently set at 4% of GDP and ambitions to reach 5%. The country has been one of the most important donors of equipment and aid to Ukraine, further driving demand and an extensive engagement plan with Poland is enabling UK DSE to promote UK plc.

According to Guy Rogers of Intec Export Intelligence, who are the delivery partner for this event, exhibiting on the UK Pavilion is a very cost-effective way of getting into Poland and making the contacts needed to supply the market successfully.
