Sentinel Photonics brings multiple laser detection sensors into one hub
Sentinel Photonics has launched LASARD MAX Connect, which links multiple MAX laser detection sensors to a single hub, giving defence teams a single real-time picture of laser activity across an operational area of interest.
MAX sensors passively and continuously scan for laser activity and MAX Connect automatically brings together their detections so operators can remotely see a live, accurate laser picture from anywhere on the network.
Sensors spread across large or complex operational areas such as forward operating bases, sensitive facilities and critical national infrastructure (CNI) can be networked via mesh radios or a fixed wired LAN connection to provide a centralised view of threats in real time, providing real-time targeting data through intersections of two or more bearings from the deployed devices.
How shared sensor detections provide operators with early warning of emerging threats
Because detections are shared across the network, users build a threat library from activity in their own operational environment. New signatures are pushed from the central application to every connected sensor, so the whole network updates at once and operators get earlier warning of emerging threats.
MAX Connect feeds directly into existing C4ISR architecture, alerting operators and cueing effectors without a separate workflow.
Jackson White, COO at Sentinel Photonics said: “Contested battlespaces produce events faster than most sensors can register them. MAX captures all laser events across the threat spectrum, military and civilian sources alike, out to 10km. If the threat discharge can see you, MAX will capture it.”
“Connecting multiple sensors through a single hub lets teams monitor wider areas, retain the intelligence to review activity over time and act on alerts rather than hunt for them.”
