The firm which specialises in Precision Multi-axis CNC machine engineering for the sub sea, aerospace, space and transport sectors, has used the £445,750 funding package to purchase the A+ rated ‘green’ unit at Eurolinks Business Park in Sittingbourne.

The investment will support activities for a key client account in the aerospace industry, which will deliver a 20 % increase in outputs for the firm and support the creation of two new apprenticeships. The funding has also enabled the purchase of brand new Muratec MT100i-T2 Twin Spindle Turning machines.

Earlier this year, AD Engineering invested around £210,000 into fully automated machinery, complimenting the firms existing machinery portfolio and helping improve operational efficiencies. In four years, this continuous investment has supported 70% increase in turnover and the creation of four new skilled jobs

In recognition of the attention to detail, AD Engineering was awarded a Specialist in Precision Engineering at the Southern Enterprise Awards.

Founded in 1993, AD Engineering has consistently adapted its business model to ensure its growth and sustainability, including the investment in sophisticated CNC technologies. Under the stewardship of owner and Managing Director, Carlos Forlese, the business has plans to grow the workforce to meet increasing demands for international orders.

Carlos said: “AD Engineering owes its success to focused investment in people and the best modern technology which allows us to create the highest quality metalwork for some of the most challenging and individual sectors in the UK. Thanks to the funding from NatWest and Lombard Asset Finance, we were able to quickly purchase an adjacent site and transform it into a fully operational and eco-friendly facility in just a matter of weeks.”

The funding deal was supported by Ian Exall at Lombard Asset Finance and Lucas Douch, Relationship Manager, NatWest.

Lucas said: “After working with the team at AD Engineering for the last nine years, it’s great to see how our funding is enabling them to expand. Carlos has a great understanding of how to make a business grow sustainably and is always looking at new ways to improve efficiencies. I look forward to seeing this business grow even further over the next 12 months.”
