AJW Technique to open new repair centre early next year

Although barely two months since A J Walter Aviation completed its purchase of the component business of Aveos Fleet Performance, it is set to open a transformed, fully functioning repair workshop for modern commercial Airbus and Boeing aircraft components early next year.

Part of this process has been to alter the footprint of the new Montreal facility - the headquarters of its global component repair and overhaul service - to provide more efficient workflows. “It was evident to us from our first visit that even though the facility was very spacious there was significant opportunity to improve process flows and enhance operational efficiency” says Greg Martin, General Manager of AJW Technique.

“The working environment is being streamlined to ensure that throughput is not compromised which will not only assist with delivering the fastest turnaround times, but also contribute to our pledge to deliver measurable benefits for customers.”

In tandem with this, equipment has been relocated or repositioned to optimise repair productivity across the entire facility. “As part of the evaluation we are verifying the capabilities and services we wish to retain so that AJW Technique can offer our customers a clearly defined scope of repairs. This approach is supported by the OEMs who see significant advantage in developing dynamic working partnerships. Everything is being reviewed and assessed and we continue to impress our aviation colleagues with the speed and dedication that underpins our progress.”

AJW companies are based out of London, Singapore, Dubai, Miami and Montréal with strategic spares stock held at these locations; across the UK, Europe and North America.  AJW also provides sales and service support from a network of offices globally; conducting business in 115 countries.

AJW Technique will provide a broad range of component repair and overhaul services to the A J Walter Aviation customer base of more than 800 airlines, with the facility becoming a centralised hub for the AJW repair supply chain.
