ARINC Direct celebrates 10th anniversary

ARINC Direct, which provides flight services solutions for the business aviation sector, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary.

Over the past decade, ARINC Direct has grown into a innovative provider of flight support, passenger communications and regulatory compliance products and services with employees and offices located throughout the world including London, Dubai, Argentina, Mexico, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada and throughout the USA.

"From its inception, ARINC Direct has had a tremendous impact on the way business aviation operates,” said Bob Richard, senior director of ARINC Direct. “Each year, more and more aircraft owners and operators are using ARINC Direct. In fact, currently just under 3,000 aircraft rely on our services every day. “I attribute our dedication to customer service and innovative products with our continued success,” notes Richard.

ARINC Direct has been responsible for a number of industry 'firsts' including:

• Created the first comprehensive browser-based flight planning system
• First to market with global Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM) analysis
• First to develop ACARS over Iridium service
• First to deploy non-US radar graphics to the flight deck
• First to integrate Runway Analysis and weight and balance into a flight planning system for Business Aviation
• First to offer unlimited satellite data to the flight deck

The company is looking to continue its innovative approach in the future, recently demonstrating its newest product, ARINC Direct Xplore, at the annual NBAA Annual Meeting and Convention and will launch it this summer. The new system offers four distinct capabilities in one portable device: complete ACARS messaging (including graphical weather), utilising an iPad application as the user interface, high quality voice using any smart phone, Instant Messaging and SMS capabilities and managed Blackberry email.

"From flight planning to our iPad application and now Xplore, ARINC Direct provides customers with access to information that makes their flights safer and planning more effective,” notes Richard. “We look forward to the next decade and beyond as we continue to fulfill our goal of providing aircraft owners and operators with a level of innovation, technology and service unheard of in the industry."
