BAE Systems and PragoData to provide Czech defence sector IPS

BAE Systems and PragoData, a Czech systems integrator and consulting company, have announced they will work together with a view to providing Integrated Product Support (IPS) capabilities to the Czech defence sector.

This has the potential to enhance the sector’s ability to keep critical assets, such as armoured vehicles, mission ready.

Initially, BAE Systems will provide PragoData with its products and services to support asset management. In the longer term, the organisations will explore combining their respective capabilities and expertise to help organisations in Czechia modernise, support and drive military value from complex defence assets.

BAE Systems has decades of asset management experience, with its data and systems integration software, PropheSEA, a core feature of its offering. Already used by the UK Royal Navy and NATO allies, PropheSEA delivers IPS across an asset’s entire lifecycle, giving organisations insight to make informed, quick decisions. These capabilities are bolstered by Eurostep, a BAE Systems organisation with deep knowledge of data standards and information exchange. Eurostep’s ShareAspace collaboration software, which is used by NATO defence organisations and industry primes, forms a key component of PropheSEA.

Campbell Harte, Head of Business Development and Sales at Eurostep, part of BAE Systems’ Digital Intelligence business, said: “In today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape, ensuring assets are available, reliable and prepared has never been more important. BAE Systems has a wealth of expertise and proven solutions in the IPS space – and through working with PragoData, we are proud to bring this to our Czech allies. Together, we can achieve our shared vision of delivering effective asset support structures, underpinned by people, process and technology.”

As a longstanding partner of the Czech armed forces, PragoData provides the country’s defence sector with IPS consulting and specialised software such as product lifecycle management systems. Through its acquisition of CALS Systems, it has unique management consulting capabilities in ASD S-Series specifications, which are critical for defence logistics.

Lubomír Toman, Chief Sales Officer, PragoData, said: “Through working with BAE Systems, PragoData is strengthening its competencies in digital defence and security solutions, which are a necessity in times of significant geopolitical threats. A world leader in defence digitalisation, interoperability and long-term technical support, BAE Systems will help us provide next generation technology to our clients across Czechia’s defence sector.”

In the future, BAE Systems and PragoData will aim to establish an asset support, availability and planning framework within Czech defence organisations for over the next decade.
