The wide-ranging agreement will see the two companies work together to explore ways to improve the range, precision and performance of ammunition. By facilitating the sharing technology and manufacturing expertise, the companies’ aim is to simplify and accelerate processes to rapidly scale up the manufacture of propellants and explosives, to meet increased global demand.

Glynn Plant, Managing Director, BAE Systems Land, said: “Ongoing world events demonstrate the importance of partnership to ensure we can supply critical munitions capabilities to meet demand. Industry’s ability to scale munitions production is an essential part of this and by working together with others, we can better support our customers.”

President of Repkon USA, Bryan Van Brunt, said: "This collaboration between Repkon and BAE Systems aims to provide our customers with access to the most advanced, next-generation technologies. What’s most exciting is that the approach incorporates world-leading advanced manufacturing techniques. We are excited to work with the BAE Systems team to see it through to success.”

BAE Systems is the primary producer of ammunition for the UK Ministry of Defence, supplying a range of munitions including small arms and artillery shells from a number of sites across the UK. Since 2023, the Company has made significant investment to ramp up production of 155mm ammunition to respond to increased requirements.
