BAE Systems announces its team in bid for Project MARSHALL
Project MARSHALL will be deployed within the UK Areas of Responsibility, including permanent overseas airfields and in support of UK and coalition expeditionary forces worldwide.
The BAE Systems-led team will comprise BAE Systems, Indra, Altran Praxis and LFV Aviation Consulting AB. The team has an excellent track record and expertise in Civilian and Military Air Traffic Management (ATM) services provision, MoD transformation programmes and safety risk management. This will ensure the development of cost effective solutions, which deliver the required technical services in a safe and non-disruptive way and enable the provision of seamless solutions to solve the obsolescence of current equipment, whilst maintaining operational capability, with the added benefit of reduced operating costs.
Summary of the team roles:
* BAE Systems The world leading system integrator and provider of military and technical services will provide the overall leadership and governance for the team
* Indra - Europe¹s leading ATM Systems integrator will provide the air traffic management and control systems, based on a proven international management approach and a history of responsible program execution
* Altran Praxis Limited With 30 years experience of designing, developing and assessing complex systems, they will provide assurance that technical specifications meet UK National, International and MoD Defence standards, to enable subsequent approval from regulatory authorities
* LFV Aviation Consulting AB Europe¹s most experienced Joint Civil and Military ATM organisation will be responsible for providing safe and
cost-effective air navigation solutions, whilst minimising the environmental impact
Commenting on the launch of the team, Steve Timms, Managing Director, Defence Information, Training & Services at BAE Systems said: "The team is committed to developing a cost effective and innovative solution which meets the customer¹s needs and requirements. This will include an innovative business solution modelling environment that provides realistic and verifiable evidence of operational capability, linked directly to improved working practices and technology upgrades. Work to date has already identified a number of alternative solutions, all of which can provide a more efficient service at reduced cost, whilst maintaining operational effectiveness. We will now work to mature the best of these solutions.

The team will now continue to develop its Project MARSHALL offering in readiness for submission of the Outline Solution and in preparation for Competitive Dialogue.
