Jason Holt (above) brings a distinguished business career spanning over two decades, during which he has held senior leadership positions across the aviation and transport sectors. In addition to his business career, Jason has direct experience of aviation as a former Squadron Leader for the Royal Air Force and Captain for Virgin Atlantic. Jason’s extensive business insight will help guide Bristol Airport’s through its next stage of growth, supporting its vision to connect its region responsibly.

Speaking about his appointment, Jason said: "I’m honoured to take on the role of Chairman of Bristol Airport, the gateway for the South West of England and South Wales. I look forward to working with the talented team here as the Airport continues to invest in new facilities to improve the passenger experience. This is a hugely exciting time to join as the Airport looks ahead to its next stage of growth and drives forward on sustainability.”

Dave Lees, CEO of Bristol Airport, said: "We’re thrilled to have Jason join us as Chairman. His extensive experience and insight will be invaluable as Bristol Airport looks to support the success of our region in the years ahead.”

Jason currently serves as Chairman of the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, which Bristol Airport has supported for the past two years, raising more than £210,000 to support the organisation’s lifesaving work. He also serves as the Chairman of EDX Medical Group plc and is the Chairman of the Dover Harbour Board, as appointed by the Secretary of State for Transport.

His extensive aviation experience includes CEO for Swissport Western Europe, Head of Operational Strategy at easyJet and EVP and Board member of Cargolux International, Europe’s largest freight airline

Janis Kong steps down after 12 years in post. She oversaw a 72% growth in passenger numbers, employee numbers on the Bristol Airport site more than doubling, extensions to the terminal building and the recovery from COVID-19 restrictions, the most challenging period in the Airport’s history.
