The focus of the visit was to discuss Meggitt’s investments in sustainable aviation and manufacturing and supporting the Government’s 10-point plan for a green industrial revolution. Minister Scully was shown how additively manufactured thermal systems will play a major part in the roadmap to sustainable aviation.  A roundtable was then hosted with a number of aerospace focused SMEs, from across the UK, to discuss the role of the industry’s supply chain to support its sustainability agenda and net-zero targets.

He and senior Meggitt leadership discussed initiatives and policies that will help drive the Government’s levelling up agenda and grow the West Midland’s economy.  Meggitt is a large regional employer, with over 1000 highly skilled workers based at their Ansty Park campus and other facilities in the West Midlands.
