Cobham ASICS ordered for airport security screening

Cobham has received a series of orders for custom Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) for airport security screening applications totalling approximately $1.6 million.

Cobham's ASICs are designed to provide the security screening industry with high level detection performance. The work will be performed by Cobham Semiconductor Solutions, a business unit of the Cobham Advanced Electronics Solutions sector.

"Our design engineering experience and heritage reduces technical risk while our extensive ASIC experience, intellectual property, and design libraries allow for first-pass success, thereby improving our customers' time-to-market," said Jeff Hassannia, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Technology for Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions. "Cobham is focused on customer satisfaction throughout the development and production process and we are pleased to offer our customers a custom ASIC that meets their needs."
