Dowty Propellers gets back to business following fire

Dowty Propellers - which experienced a significant fire last Thursday at its facility in Anson Business Park, Gloucester, UK - is in the process of returning to full operations, whilst the Dowty UK Repair & Overhaul facility located in a separate unaffected building nearby, continues to operate normally.

In a statement yesterday, Dowty said it has committed considerable resources to get its operation back up and running as soon as possible, forming a number of teams who are moving quickly to address every aspect of the business, and remains in close contact with its employees, customers and the regulatory authorities.

Office staff and support functions are in the process of being temporarily relocated to the nearby GE Aviation facility at Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham.

Meanwhile, Dowty are evaluating a number of facilities and plans, identifying what it would take to re-start operations and limit the disruption for its employees and customers.

The company said it will be contacting customers directly with more information and has provided the following e-mail and telephone numbers in case of any difficulty experienced reaching normal contacts due to a temporary disruption to the Dowty UK telephone network.

Repair and Overhaul
Dowty’s repair facilities at Gloucester (UK), Sterling, (USA) and Brisbane (Australia) continue to operate normally. Customers should continue to use their normal points of contact for orders and enquiries.
