Choosing components for demanding applications is now more important than ever. Sophisticated devices are being deployed into harsh environments as military users adopt the latest technologies. Engineers need to provide product reliability in the toughest conditions and ensure that components can continue to deliver the high performance required. Sourcing components from manufacturers who manufacture to military standard quality standards is a major step to achieving these goals.

APEM MIL Standard manufactured products now available from Foremost include:

  • Night Vision (NVG) Compatible 8mm diameter LED Indicators, designed for military applications to prevent covert units from being blinded. These robust indicators are compatible with night vision goggles and are compliant to the military standard MIL-STD-3009. NVG compatible LED indicators are available in black or anodized, front panel and rear epoxy sealed to IP67 and available in six colours.
  • The TS Series Thumbstick proportional two axis joystick in a miniature package may be used for applications including pendant and remote controls as well as a joystick handle and arm rest integration. Featuring non-contacting Hall Effect technology for long life performance, the TS Series Thumbstick is available with multiple linear output options including single and dual (redundant) outputs. It is similar in size and operation to gamepad controls, but in a rugged industrial package. It is available with threaded plastic D-flat housing, LED options, USB outputs and IP67 above panel sealing.
  • 12000 series high specification robust toggle switches specially manufactured for defence, telecommunications and other professional applications. One, two, three and four pole configurations with several locking lever options. Toggle action on two-position models provides a smooth mechanical operation. Bright chrome, satin chrome or matt black finishes and CECC approved.
  • 13000 high reliability single pole and double pole momentary pushbuttons, with silver- or gold-plated contacts. Panel or PCB mounting, UL and CECC approved and designed to European MIL specifications.

In order to better support this key market Foremost has now achieved JOSCAR accreditation. As well as their JOSCAR listing Foremost have also achieved Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. This demonstrates that the company have robust and secure IT systems in place to safely communicate with customers in sensitive markets.
