Gatwick welcomes Sam Fulton as Director of Communications & External Affairs

Sam Fulton has this week joined London Gatwick as the airport’s new Director of Communications and External Affairs.

Leading teams across communications and engagement, Sam will be responsible for protecting and enhancing the airport’s reputation as it works towards achieving London Gatwick’s mission to be the airport for everyone, whatever your journey.

Part of London Gatwick’s executive team, Sam will also focus on the airport’s strategic communications direction, community outreach and external affairs. In addition, Sam will oversee the airport’s Noise and Airspace Strategy team, who work to soften the impact of airport noise and carry out the Government-led programme to modernise UK airspace surrounding London Gatwick.

Sam joins London Gatwick from Nomad Foods (Birds Eye, Aunt Bessie’s and Goodfella’s) where she was Group Director for Corporate Affairs and Sustainability. She has a wealth of experience in communications, sustainability and external affairs following an impressive career at international organisations including Apple, Unilever, McDonald’s and Nestlé.

Sam Fulton, Director of Communications and External Affairs, London Gatwick said: “It is a privilege to join London Gatwick at this critical moment in the airport’s history. We have ambitious plans to grow as we progress our Northern Runway Project alongside a significant capital investment programme and goals to reach net zero for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.  

“We want to grow responsibly, making sure our reputation is that of an airport that truly cares about its passengers, people and local communities. I am excited about the role I will play on this journey, working alongside London Gatwick colleagues, to grow and enhance the reputation of one the world’s leading airports.”

Stewart Wingate, CEO, London Gatwick said: “I am delighted to have appointed Sam as London Gatwick’s Director of Communications and External Affairs, a crucial role and part of the airport’s executive leadership team.

“Sam joins us with a strong track record in global communications and strategy at world-renowned organisations and will lead an exceptional team here at London Gatwick.”

Sam will take over from Tim Norwood, who was Director of Corporate Affairs at London Gatwick for more than seven years. Tim will continue to serve in his role as Chief Planning Officer, as well leading the work on promoting the airport’s Northern Runway Project.
