IAG Cargo successfully delivers Pagani Huarya supercar

IAG Cargo -created following the merger of British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo - has today announced the successful delivery of a Pagani Huarya from Frankfurt to Hong Kong.

The same model was featured last weekend on the first episode of the new series of the BBC's Top Gear programme, where it became the fastest car to ever go round the Top Gear track.

The twin turbo, 720 horsepower supercar was carried on a B747-8F; a dedicated freighter service operated by IAG Cargo that establishes a key trade route between Hong Kong and Europe. IAG Cargo provided this freighting service for Globaltrans International Logistics, a leading mid-sized logistics service provider headquartered at Düsseldorf together with their customer Trans.Al Logistic, headquartered in 85614 Kirchseeon.

IAG Cargo has been operating the Frankfurt to Hong Kong freighter service since 1999 and it has proved to be a key route for medium to high-end automotive cargo. IAG Cargo was the first carrier to use the latest B747-8F freighters at Frankfurt airport. These freighters offer greater capacity and range than older freighters and are better for the environment.

Chris Nielen, regional commercial manager, Europe at IAG Cargo commented: “Our Frankfurt – Hong Kong freighter service has proved to be highly beneficial for European companies wishing to trade with Asia – not least in the automotive industry. The fact that customers are willing to entrust us with such high-value products speaks volumes for the dedication of our employees and the consistently high-quality service we offer from this important trade centre.”

Christian Steindorf, branch manager at Globaltrans Frankfurt said: “Given that the Pagani Huarya is valued at over €1m, we needed a cargo carrier that could guarantee a safe and timely delivery. With IAG Cargo we got just that. The team handled the delivery with the care and respect it deserved and delivered it on time. There is nothing more we can ask from a reliable partner.”
