The partnership will drive secure collaboration between various justice organisations across the UK, including the delivery of Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) and supporting over 100 Independent Monitoring Boards (IMBs). As of 2024, Kahootz already had over 3,800 active users from the Ministry of Justice.
For over 20 years, MAPPA has played a crucial role in ensuring public safety by facilitating joint efforts between key agencies, such as the Police, Probation, and Prison Services, to assess and manage risks posed by individuals convicted of serious offences, notably violence against women.
Supporting MAPPA since 2015, Kahootz’s secure collaboration platform will continue help improve the cross-agency exchange of information and strengthen coordination, ensuring they can continue to deliver their essential work effectively. These arrangements are essential for assessing and managing the risks posed by individuals convicted of serious violent, sexual, and terrorism offences living in the community, thereby ensuring public safety.
In addition, IMBs play a critical role in ensuring the humane treatment and proper conditions for individuals in prisons and immigration detention facilities across the UK. Kahootz’s secure tools enable IMBs to conduct regular visits, access records, and address detainee complaints efficiently and proactively, in the field or in the office. The platform reinforces IMBs ability to report any abuse or serious issues promptly to ministers and produce comprehensive annual reports assessing wellbeing of those imprisoned or detained. Through this partnership, Kahootz are committed to enhancing the effectiveness and transparency of IMBs' vital work.
The Kahootz platform, perfected over the last two decades, is trusted by organisations across the private and public sector, working with the Ministry of Defence, the Home Office and the NHS. This vital partnership reinforces a crucial sector government work that is often overlooked, ensuring that those that need protection are protected, especially in an age of increasing violence against women.
Luca Leone, CEO of Kahootz said: “We’re really proud to be continuing our relationship with the MoJ, helping to deliver such critical work. From helping safeguard public safety through MAPPA to empowering IMBs in their mission to uphold humane standards, this contract reflects the real-world impact of secure and efficient collaboration.
