Menzies Aviation renews Thai Cargo Oceania contract

Menzies Aviation today announced the renewal of a contract with Thai Cargo to provide cargo services to Thailand’s flag carrier at five stations across Australia and New Zealand.

The five year contract will see Menzies deliver a full suite of cargo handling services at four Australian airports; Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, as well as Auckland on New Zealand’s North Island. The Menzies’ team will handle 40,000 tonnes of cargo per annum, across five to six flights per day.

This renewed contract further strengthens Menzies’ relationship with Thai Cargo in the region, with the quality of service and customer engagement already delivered leading to a seamless renewal.

Menzies has a strong cargo portfolio in the region and has been investing to strengthen its position. The acquisition of Gold Coast Air Terminal Services Pty Ltd and the addition of two new cargo bases  opened in Cairns and Melbourne means that Menzies Aviation’s cargo network in the region now totals over 13 stations.

Menzies’ Auckland station has also seen significant growth in its cargo operations, most recently with contract wins with Korean Air and Qatar Airways.

Giles Wilson, Chief Executive Officer said: “Our operations in Oceania continue to go from strength to strength, demonstrating that the investment in our cargo portfolio in Australia in particular is paying off.  Leveraging already existing relationships with airline partners such as Thai Cargo remains a key driver in growing our network, not just in this region but globally.

“Today’s news is testament to the hard work and high standards of our cargo handling team, and we look forward to delivering best in class cargo solutions for Thai Cargo, ensuring that we remain their airline services partner of choice.”
