National Space Centre wins at Cultural Enterprises Awards

The Cultural Enterprises Awards, run by the Association of Cultural Enterprises, provide an inspirational showcase of creativity and success in cultural income generation, as well as the talented people and teams that make it all happen.

The National Space Centre triumphed in its category against strong competition from the Old Royal Naval College in London and Watershed in Bristol.

The National Space Centre was judged the outright winner of the award based on a number of key achievements including its Venue Hire team achieving record results in 2024–25 by innovating, diversifying and staying aligned with the mission to inspire future space scientists. The Centre increased its range of offerings to include Cosmic Events and the Tetrastar Spaceport which broadened audiences, boosted quieter months and enhanced flexibility.

Teresa Maguire, Commercial Director at National Space Centre said: “Our Venue Hire team has worked incredibly hard to grow and evolve our offer for the corporate market, so winning this major industry award is fantastic recognition of their creativity and commitment.

“We believe we offer something truly distinctive, combining an iconic venue with immersive space experiences to create corporate events that stand out.”

The National Space Centre in Leicester – the UK’s largest visitor attraction dedicated to space – is the Millennium Commission landmark project for the East Midlands co-founded by The University of Leicester and Leicester City Council. Its other founding partners are BT and East Midlands Development Agency.

In 2025, the National Space Centre was awarded the national silver award by Visit England for Large Visitor Attraction of the year.
