Police officers awarded Queen's Police Medal

Two serving police officers were awarded the Queen's Police Medal in Her Majesty's Birthday Honours.

Detective Superintendent Gail Johnston (50), and Chief Superintendent Brian McInulty (48) both received the prestigious accolade.

Colin Dorrance, a retired Sergeant, has been awarded an MBE. He was recognised for 'services to Law and Order, his work around the Remembrance of Pan Am 103 and to charity'.

Detective Superintendent Gail Johnston, the lead for the National Offender Management Unit said: "I am extremely honoured and humbled to have been awarded the QPM. It is a great honour, which I am proud and delighted to receive.

"This award reflects the hard work and dedication of the officers, staff and partners I have had the pleasure of working with over the past 29 years, especially those within the world of offender management. I would like to thank them, my friends and family for all their support and guidance."

Chief Superintendent Brian McInulty, Divisional Commander for Greater Glasgow Division said: "I am really humbled to have received this recognition.

"This is a reflection of the great work and support of my colleagues and partners across Greater Glasgow Division and Police Scotland. It has been an honour and privilege to serve as a police officer over the course of my service. Particular thanks go to my family and friends who have supported me over the years."

Chief Constable Iain Livingstone said: "These awards are recognition of the dedicated public service each recipient has given to communities across Scotland. They have made considerable contributions to policing and I give them my deepest thanks and warmest congratulations."
