Police Scotland wins Employer of the Year award

Police Scotland has won the Employer of the Year award, accepted by Chief Superintendent Conrad Trickett on behalf of Police Scotland, at the 2026 Scottish Veterans Awards ceremony held in Edinburgh last week.

The organisation was shortlisted​ in the category thanks to the work of Police Scotland's Veterans Champions Network, Stef Grzybowski and his involvement with the Armed Forces and Police Scotland's employed veterans.

Chief Superintendent Conrad Trickett accepted the award i​n his capacity as Chair of the Veterans Champions Network. He thanked the Network and Police Scotland’s veterans for the work they do and the value they add to public service.

He said: “It was a great honour to receive the Employer of the Year award on behalf of Police Scotland.

“It represents the organisation’s commitment to supporting our veterans and celebrating the added value they bring to policing.

“The award showcases the passion and commitment of our Veterans Champions Network whose work is instrumental in receiving this accolade.”

Employer of the Year Award was strongly contended with nominations from businesses across Scotland.

The awards ceremony took place on Thursday 29th April at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh and was attended by business leaders, senior military personnel and Scottish Veterans Commissioner, Susie Hamilton.
