Rachel Warnett and Simon Todd were attending a reception organised by the ADS trade association to celebrate aerospace apprenticeships and aerospace engineering. Approximately 60 apprentices from across the industry were given tours of the House of Lords and other parts of the Palace of Westminster, prior to the reception at the House of Commons.
The event was hosted by a cross-party group of MPs who are promoting apprenticeships as a solid career choice for individuals and a vital part of rebalancing the UK’s economy.
Rachel and Simon are both in the final year of the apprenticeship course at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire, Rachel is training in mechanical engineering, whilst Simon is working on avionics.
Rachel said: “It was a great opportunity to network with apprentices from a variety of different companies, and to meet some of our local MPs. Overall it was fantastic to showcase the opportunities available within QinetiQ and the high standard of work that QinetiQ achieves with our apprenticeship scheme.”
