Border Security Expo 2022 is taking place from Tuesday 29th to Wednesday 30th March in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Silent Sentinel Inc. will be displaying its equipment on Booth no. 733, which is being shared with the company’s US Sales Partner, JGW Group.

Featured on the stand will be the Jaegar Sonus, comprised of a Jaegar pan-and-tilt unit (PTU) upon which is mounted a directional acoustic hailer, a white light illuminator and HD visible camera. The Sonus offers two hailing options and is capable of delivering 154db of sound pressure, providing clear, highly directional audible warnings such as a siren or intelligible speech at ranges of up to 2.5km.

Also present on the stand is the Rapid Deployment Kit (RDK), which was first unveiled at DSEI last year. Designed to meet the increasing demand for agile surveillance, the RDK allows for the swift set-up of a surveillance position even in remote locations. The RDK consists of a rugged carry case containing a tripod, an Oculus or Aeron thermal pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera, along with a laptop or GTAC. The RDK can provide uninterrupted surveillance for up to 30 hours, or indefinitely when connected to an external power source, and is ideally suited to search & rescue operations conducted by law enforcement and disaster relief organizations such as FEMA.

As the US division of UK company Silent Sentinel, Silent Sentinel Inc’s appearance at the Border Security Expo marks a significant milestone in the company’s development and its expansion into the US. The company opened its first offices in St Petersburg, Florida, in 2020 and has already made significant inroads into the regional market. As well as providing maritime surveillance to naval bases along the East Coast of the US, Silent Sentinel Inc. was selected last year to provide thermal imaging platforms to safeguard an 80km stretch of the Mexican coastline, integrated with VTS software from Texan Technical Partner, Prodar. Silent Sentinel Inc’s commitment to US security is exemplified by these successes, as well as the appointment of US consulting firm JGW as its Sales Partner.

2021 saw the launch of several new platforms and product ranges, such as the Jaegar Sonus and the Aeron Laser Range Finder and in August the company launched the EVO2 range of uncooled Long-Wave Infrared (LWIR) thermal sensors to provide advanced detection capabilities in the most extreme conditions.

These new products added to an already impressive offering of platforms and technologies, ranging from fever-detection thermal sensors to fixed OGI (Optical Gas Imaging) cameras capable of detecting and visualising gas leaks.

James Longcroft, Sales Director at Silent Sentinel Inc. said: “We are looking forward to exhibiting at the Border Security Expo and to engaging once again with industry and customers in the US. Our mission is to provide customers with cutting-edge new technologies as standard in our products, which are all geared towards flexibility and ease of integration. We are excited to be on-hand to brief stakeholders and attendees on the best-in-class capabilities of our equipment.”
