Speakers confirmed for FISS and ISRE-40

Specialists from NASA, Babcock, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, UK Ministry of Defence and the US Government, have been confirmed as speakers for the Farnborough International Space Show (FISS) and The 40th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment (ISRSE), taking place at Farnborough in the UK during March 2025.

In addition, Babcock and Rolls-Royce have announced their presence and support of the Farnborough International organised exhibition taking place 19th-20th March 2025 at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre in Hampshire, UK - location of the world-famous Farnborough International Airshow - with the event designed to pioneer the commercial space age and advance space domain defence. From international governments, space commands and space agencies, to manufacturers, industry start-ups and renowned academics, the show is set to provide a unique event for the entire space ecosystem to meet in the UK.

The first wave of speakers confirmed include:

Babcock, which operates Skynet, the UK's military satellite communications system, among many other critical activities, will showcase its innovative solutions and technologies driving advancements in the space sector at the show. Babcock is also sponsoring the Satellite Stage, a central hub for thought leadership and discussions on the latest trends, technologies, and challenges in satellite technology.

Neal Misell, Chief Executive of Babcock’s Mission Systems business which manages Skynet said: “Space is becoming increasingly important in areas such as national security.
 
“Given the significant role Babcock plays in space communications, this event will be a real opportunity to collaborate with industry and academic partners to address the key topics from skills to security and to work on future solutions, together.”

Global developer of complex power and propulsion solutions, Rolls-Royce will be presenting its pioneering research into how nuclear power could be used to support a future Moon base for astronauts as part of its Micro-Reactor programme at the two-day event.

Babcock and Rolls-Royce join the likes of Viasat, Lockheed Martin, L3Harris, KIPSE, Global Spaceport Alliance, Space South Central, Magdrive, International Supply Chain Management, Rayfast, Cornwall Space Cluster and many others on the show floor.

The event will be co-located with the 40th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment (ISRSE-40), a world-renowned conference taking place on UK soil for the first time in its history, to share crucial, emerging knowledge in pursuit of protecting the planet and its people. Taking place 17th-21st March 2025, the Symposium will host a range of participants dedicated to the advancement of remote sensing technologies and the data analysis pivotal to Earth Observation capabilities and space applications, including senior leaders from the likes of NASA, ESA, DLR, JAXA and ASI.
