SSTL US partners with Aeroflex on GPS Receivers

Surrey Satellite Technology US LLC - a wholly owned subsidiary of Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL) - announced a contract for the batch production of its industry-leading SGR-10 Space GPS Receiver, with Aeroflex's division in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as a strategic partner for the in-country manufacture of electronic assemblies.

Aeroflex, a leading global provider of high-performance microelectronic components, is to serve as Surrey’s US-based manufacturing partner for short-term manufacturing of subsystem electronics, while Surrey establishes its own in-country electronics manufacturing capability.

Aeroflex will manufacture electronic assemblies to Surrey’s specifications at its facilities in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with the final flight hardware to be integrated and tested at Surrey’s Englewood, Colorado, facilities. The industrial teaming will be demonstrated and qualified through the initial GPS receiver batch build.

The SGR-10 Space GPS Receiver provides position, velocity, and time determination information for spacecraft navigation in low-Earth orbit. The SGR-10 has extensive flight heritage—Surrey has supplied the receiver for NASA, the United States Air Force, European Space Agency, and other customer missions worldwide.
