Experts from BMT’s Surface Navy, Underwater and Land Systems teams will share their knowledge and expertise with delegates through a series of interactive demonstrations.
Through the use of technology, including augmented reality and iPads, delegates will, for example, be able to navigate the compartment of a ship, looking at specific equipment and the associated safety hazards. This will help provide a better understanding of what’s required in regards to safety management and environmental protection.
Darren Matthews, Business Development Leader for the Surface Navy team at BMT Isis said: “Safety management and environmental protection of complex technology can often be seen as an opaque process. This event provides us with a great opportunity to engage with our clients, helping them to get a good feel about the way we can break-down the safety and environmental issues associated with their technology and allowing them to understand matters in a much more intuitive way.
"We recognise that the UK MoD is going through significant organisational change and is learning to cope with fewer resources. Everyone cites a greater demand for innovation and an increased reliance on technology. By working as a client friend to the MoD, BMT can play a part, facilitating the sharing of our knowledge and experience among the stakeholders and helping them respond effectively to the safety, environmental and security issues associated with their projects.”
