Zelim appoints John Cumming as Director of International Business Development

Edinburgh based maritime technology company Zelim, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of John Cumming as Director of International Business Development.

Zelim has announced the appointment of John Cumming (above) as Director of International Business Development. He will lead the organisation’s focus on international market expansion opportunities and strategic partnerships in the ferry, defence, superyacht and wider maritime industries.

John joins Zelim from Artemis Technologies, where he was responsible for business development, sales and product development for zero emissions foiling vessels. John’s varied background spans the corporate finance, ferry, defence and offshore services sectors, including 10 years’ service in the British Army leading infantry and specialist teams, notably including two years developing novel technology in Strategic Command’s innovation hub.

John’s appointment marks the latest step in Zelim’s ongoing expansion, with its leadership team hav-ing doubled in size since 2023. The company has experienced significant success in recent months, having achieved ISO 21195:2020 certification for its ZOE man-overboard technology, and securing contracts with BC Ferries and a major offshore energy operator.

Sam Mayall, Zelim’s Founder and CEO said: “John joins us during a very promising time for Zelim.
