Westica is a deep technical specialist in the design, deployment and support of microwave and UHF/VHF radio networks, critical communications systems, cyber-secure networking, and infrastructure solutions.

Serbus is backed by Aliter Capital, the private equity ‘buy and build’ specialist in the UK support services sector. Westica is the fourth acquisition by Serbus since December 2022.

Founded in Glasgow in 1994, Westica offers more than 30 years of experience in the provision of specialist secure radio network communications. The acquisition of Westica will allow Serbus to further enhance its offering in some of the UK’s most demanding environments across CNI, utilities, ‘blue light’ services, government, transport, oil & gas and enterprise sectors.

Simon Fieldhouse, Group CEO, Serbus, said: “This is another important step for Serbus in building a business to meet the increasing needs of CNI customers. Sector expertise and a focus on security, operational health and safety and compliance is core to the Serbus strategy and we recognise in Westica the same commitment to resilience, reliability and customer service. The addition of Westica to our Group extends our security DNA and strengthens our mission to connect and protect the services that matter most.”

Serbus: Success built on technical expertise

Westica directors Stevie Dynes and Andy Hunwicks are remaining with the business, working closely with Serbus and Aliter to deliver ambitious growth plans. The addition of Westica’s presence in Scotland also supports plans to develop a UK-wide footprint for Serbus, servicing major customers across the length and breadth of the country.

Westica director Stevie Dynes said: “Our success has always been built on technical expertise, responsiveness and customer relationships. Joining Serbus Group allows us to build on those foundations and invest further in the future. We are excited about the additional capabilities and opportunities this partnership will create for our customers and colleagues moving forward.”

Serbus is aiming to expand in the UK market in B2B critical network and ICT Infrastructure managed services within the CNI sector. The Group combines secure infrastructure and communications capabilities with government-grade security expertise and offers immediate scale. A critical differentiator for Serbus is its ‘security DNA’, with foundations built on the rigorous standards of the UK Special Forces, UK Government, Emergency Services and National Healthcare and addressing the increasing challenges faced by UK Critical National Infrastructure.
